Jill Freud sends her congratulations and support to Westminster Liberal Democrats

Jill Freud, wife of the late Sir Clement Freud, has sent a message of encouragement to the members, supporters and activists of Westminster Liberal Democrats. She said:
"As a resident of Marylebone and long time supporter of the Party, I congratulate all of you on the hours you have put in for this very exciting election."
"Regardless of the immediate electoral outcome, the strength of the Liberal vote throughout the country and the new public awareness that proportional representation is necessary and - how wonderful - now attainable, means that none of your hard work will be wasted."
"Everything will change now - I so wish Clement could have been here to see it. I look forward to meeting you all at the thank you party on May 26th."
Sir Clement Freud was the Liberal MP for the Isle of Ely and then North East Cambridgshire from1973 to 1987. Much admired by his peers, he sadly passed away in April 2009 at the age of 84.
