An education now comes at a price - thanks to Labour's tuition fees
Liberal Democrats have backed plans to get rid of Labour's tuition fees which students are forced to pay to get an education. LibDem members meeting at their spring conference in Harrogate earlier this month voted to axe what many see as a tuition tax on young people.
Commenting, Naomi Smith, the party's parliamentary candidate for the Cities of London and Westminster, said, "Labour's tuition fees are putting many young people off going to university as well as part-time further education courses."
"And many who do go to university or college are crippled by huge levels of debt imposed on them by Labour's decision to make young people pay for the cost of their tuition.
"Young people who live or study in Westminster will benefit from axing Labour's tax on learning."
