Mark Blackburn is campaigning for Westbourne Grove shopkeepers to get proper compensation
Local Liberal Democrats are continuing to campaign for Westbourne Grove shopkeepers who were badly hit by all the Thames Water work that closed off the street for months last year.
Commenting, local LibDem parliamentary spokesperson Mark Blackburn said:
"Local businesspeople are telling me that they have been treated really badly by both the Conservative-run Council and Thames Water. After suffering so much last year and now facing one of the worst recessions for decades, they deserve much better.
"Westbourne Grove, with all its independent small shops, is a real local gem. What we need from the Council and from Thames Water is urgent action to make sure it stays that way."
Mark continued: "This area is very close to my heart as I used to run a shop on Westbourne Grove and I spent my whole working life in retail."
