Sue Baring will push for more bin collections
Conservative-run Westminster council has admitted that it is set to cut how much it spends on picking up residents' bin bags by £800,000 - despite piles of rubbish blighting local streets.
Commenting, Lancaster Gate by-election candidate Sue Baring said, "As a resident, I often see the big black bins in streets like Leinster Gardens, Craven Hill and Queensborough Terrace overflowing with rubbish. It is just not good enough. Local people want clean streets, free of bin bags. They don't want bin bags sitting around for days at a time, creating a rats' paradise.
"The Conservatives are letting local residents down badly by cutting back on keeping our streets clean.
"I will push for more bin collections and fight the Conservative cutbacks. I want my neighbourhood to be a cleaner and better place to live."
The Lancaster Gate by-election will be held on 23rd October, with polling stations open from 7am until 10pm.
