LibDems are fighting to support Church Street Market
On the eve of the by-election in Westminster's Church Street ward, Liberal Democrat candidate Martin Thompson has been joined on the campaign trail by London Assembly member Caroline Pidgeon.
Caroline is pushing for street markets like Church Street to be promoted on local public transport. She is raising the issue with Transport for London.
Commenting on Caroline's visit to Church Street, Martin said, "I want passengers on buses on Edgware Road and on Bakerloo line Tube trains running through Edgware Road station to be reminded that this great street market is here. Millions of people use these public transport routes every year. That's a huge number of potential customers.
"It is great news that Caroline is raising this in the Assembly. Her efforts are a perfect example of the sort of positive change that Liberal Democrats push for when elected to office."
Polling stations in the ward are open from 7am until 10pm on Thursday 24th July.
